Well, worth checking out. I suppose I should just go out with my one and only priest and have him show me the ropes.

Are you expected to administrate at all? Your time might be more effectively spent in study. My understanding is that farming is more physically strenuous than it is complicated. Though technology here is so far advanced from any I'm familiar with that may no longer be the case.
