- What? Is this seriously a problem we're having? I've got technology, and isn't there a Home God around here somewhere? There has to be something we can do.
Tell me there's some kind of plan.
re: getting the hell out of here -
- People keep asking how we get get out of here. Other people keep saying that we don't, or if we do then they don't know how.
I do.
Step 1: Aircraft. Skipping past land-based vehicles because I'm assuming that if you can't leave on foot, you can't leave by bicycle or automobile either. So I spend the next couple of weeks pulling together some kind of helicopter, hovercraft, plane - I haven't decided yet. My area of tech expertise is 100x higher in altitude, so I'm going to need to do some research, not to mention gather the scrap I need to piece it together.
If it won't let us fly out, Step 2: Spacecraft. I build a damn good shuttle. If we can't leave in any of the cardinal directions, we'll go up. Once we're in orbit, we scout out our options, plot our target, and re-enter the atmosphere for a bumpy but mostly safe landing somewhere far from here.
It's not foolproof and it'll take a while to get everything in order, but unless someone finds the Throne of Dimensional Bullshit around here somewhere, it's the best plan we've got.
re: general pantheonic ineptitude -
- This should go without saying, but based on the fact that at least half of the 'gods' on here can't find their own ass with both hands and a tracking chip, this is your first of probably many reminders to get your shit together. In a perfect world, this place wouldn't depend on your ability to at least pretend to know how to build a radio or grow some food, but it does. So figure it out or find someone who doesn't have to.

1. Zelda and I have started working on the housing issue, but we're more than willing to take any help we can get.
2. If you need a programmer for any of that I'm all yours. It's sort of what I do.

2. Programmer. I get the feeling we're from completely different technospheres. Honestly, I kind of dig it.
We can cover more bases that way. What do programmers do, where you're from?

[Off network for prying eyes
Looking at you Georgea]They're different, but one can easily go hand in hand with the other. I'm from 2017, or the 21st century,
whichever is more useful to you. I'm also more skilled than your average programmer. Not that I want that spread around.
Programs do anything really. By 2017 everything is run by programmes; including rockets.
The problem is that I think this might have more to do with temporal theory then rockets. Which mean no amount of man-made travel is going to get us out of here.

But if you have a better candidate, please send them here. I really wouldn't be doing this if there were a better option.

Also, what's the point in getting away from this city if we can't get to our actual homes? I for one am from Earth, which does seem to be the correct planet. Just the wrong universe. No amount of spacecraft is going to fix that, unless you're also an expert in interdimensional bullshit.
3. Skill in your area doesn't seem to have anything to do with it. I know how to brew a pot of coffee, but all I've got right now is instant. Dick's no farmer but crops are growing. Clearly it doesn't matter who's on the throne or what skills they have.
Maybe we should figure out what skills are needed before we start harassing people for not having the right ones?

And I'm not saying we zoom off into deep space. I'm saying we escape whatever field is keeping us here, then drop down to Earth somewhere that isn't some sort of mystical city-sized cage.
3. I'm not saying we have to be experts at what we do. I just keep seeing a lot of "I'm the god of X, what is X? Can I eat it?" bullshit that probably isn't making too great an impression on the locals who apparently look to us as some kind of gods. What if they start to doubt us? I've seen anarchy. It ain't pretty.

3. Sounds to me like discretion is more important than experience, then.

And who are you? No offense — just getting a feel for who's working on some kind of a fix here.

❰ she's half kidding, but only half. ❱
I know it won't get us back where we came from. I just don't think we'll find a way back where we came from while we're trapped in here. Whoever or whatever has us trapped is probably on the outside, so that's where we need to be.

[That might be a joke. Maybe.]
In any case, it is still a good idea. Even if it doesn't let us get out, getting a full bird's eye view of the place will certainly be educational. Just make sure you can also get back down.

That, and I can be a pilot if Poe's not around. Or if we need more than one.

You came in on a craft? ❰ this seems to have her immediate attention. ❱ What kind of craft? Shuttle, drop-ship?

Oh, right. She's the one who needs to answer, first. Can't be rude.]
We did. It was--just a fighter, an old one, but it did the job. [Sort of.] That is, we didn't die on impact, I mean.
